I’ve always been fascinated by folktales, and among all, I believe Little Red Riding Hood is the most iconic one. That’s why I chose to give it my interpretation.

The wonderful woods, the kind and naïve kid in the red hood and the big, bad and deceiving wolf appear straightforward. However, you could sense something more: the shadow created by the wolf envelops the little girl anticipating her destiny, and the wood is beautiful, but it’s inhabited just by butterflies, no one else in sight for help.

This set of illustrations features simple shapes to better resonate with a tale for children. At the same time I worked with textures to give three-dimensionality and some personality to the design. The result is a picture that isn’t meant to be scary and yet gives the feeling something is off, even though Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf may seem friendly to each other for now
